Post subject:  Static on PVR-150

I am a newbie to Knoppmyth and to anything deep in Linux. (vi I can do).
I installed Knoppmyth R5A16 about a month ago. I don't want to try R5A22 yet as I am on dial-up.
The installation worked and the PVR-150 cards both work with composite input. All of the MythTV functions look great except I only get static on tuned TV.

The tuner cards are both recognised by the driver

tveeprom: tuner = Philips FQ1216ME MK3 (idx = 55, type = 4)
tveeprom: tuner fmt = PAL(D/K) (eeprom = 0x74, v4l2 = 0x00400e17)
tveeprom: audio_processor = MSP3400C (type = 4)

PVR-150 MCE

tveeprom: tuner = LG S001D MK3 (idx = 60, type = 4)
tveeprom: tuner fmt = PAL(D/K) (eeprom = 0x74, v4l2 = 0x00400e17)
tveeprom: audio_processor = MSP3410D (type = 5)

I have run mythfilldatabase/tv_grab_au and populated the Channel information. All of the setup information looks OK.
I am running on a standard computer monitor.
I think I have been through every entry on ivtv and MythTV and have well and truly run out of ideas. My assumption is that this is a tuning issue. Is there an easy way to test this. I tried ivtv-tune but it does not exist.

If have missed something, please ask.

Hardware etc should be in my signature

upgrade your version of IVTV and that should to it, as well, if u look in the hints and tips portion of the site, i have a walkthrough for the 150, which will get the IR blaster going and the Remote that came with your Card working. Its pretty easy to do, dont worry about the ir blaster part of it. just your remote control and the LIRC and IVTV stuff...

Thanks J0ly. I didn't look at that post because it was about IR Blaster and I didn't have a need. I had tried a ivtv 0.3.8 before but it seemed to not work. Followed your steps and I now have Watch TV working. The remote is working too. It does not seem to change channels but I saw a post somewhere about that.

I looked through your posts with Mark. What a huge amount of work you 2 put in. My thanks. :D
