Post subject:  TV tuner Suggestions

Howdy,
I am making a setup.
So far I have:
CPU: AthlonXP 2000+
Video: GF Ti4200
Ram: Generic 512,..but can use 1024
HDD: 100gb seagate
I need to buy the main board, tv tuner and case.
For the mainboard i was going to try and get hold of a Nforce2 chipset from wherever has one.
I was just going to use onboard sound.
Case doesn't matter at the moment.

What should I pick for the tuner card? I don't know a great deal about linux so I was hoping that there might be something supported "out of the box".
I have been unable to find a simple to read list for what drivers are included.
I want to caputer Digital Television but I don't care about high definition telly. Just standard is fine.

I am looking at(prices in AU):
AverMedia DVB-T A777 117.00
AverMedia DVB-T Digital 109.80
DIVCO FUSION HDTV Lite 172.30
Hauppauge NOVA-T-MCE 210.00
Leadtek Winfast DV-1000T 91.40
Twinhan 85.00

Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Frente

Welcome frente69, I am in Aus and am using a VisionPlus card (Twinhan Clone) and find that it works fine with the current version. There is a couple of other people on the board that use them as well.

If you have a look at http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=WhatCardYouUse you will see which cards people are using.

Thanks for that :-)
I like cheaper as long as it works without tooo many problems

There seem to be alot of people from Aus on this forum. Do you think it is because we can't buy tivo type devices easily? ;-)

Thanks again
