I'm planning to build a box using the following hardware; will it work?
The following is kind of a given; an old PC I got for free from my workplace
CPU: Pentium III 1GHz
Mobo chipset: VIAPLE133/686B/i845
Memory: 384MB
HD: 80GB Western digital
Planning on buying:
TV-card: Hauppage WinTV PVR-500MCE
USB Controller: Sitecom USB 2.0 PCI Card 4 Port
Video controller: AOpen Aeolus FX5200-V128 PCI, 128 MB (No agp-slot
)
Network if: SMC SMC2862W
Remote control: Marmitek PC Control
Do you think this will work?
If you have better alternatives for the hardware I plan on buying, please advise me, better to change now then to be disappointed afterwards
