Hi,

I installed from R5A22 (before seeing the warning) and it is the first thing that has ever made my HDTV-3000 card work! In fact, the automatic install made it possible to watch Live HDTV just accepting the defaults. Awesome.

My problem is that I want to use a wireless Linksys USB NIC (an old WUSB-11 known to work with the wlan-ng drivers) and it currently doesn't appear at all. (All I have is eth0, the wired NIC).

I get the impression that the wlan-ng drivers are already installed by KnoppMyth, but I just don't understand the steps I would need to take to make it realize I have this USB device attached, call it wlan0, and bring it up.

Please explain step by step. I need details! Thanks.

http://at76c503a.berlios.de/support.html turns out to be the right driver for the WUSB11 v2.6. You check it out of CVS, make, make install, modprobe, and add it to /etc/network/interfaces and ifup it and whammo you're on the net.

Me again,

So while this driver works great my system does something weird on boot. I can watch it bring up the driver and get an IP address via DHCP during the middle of the boot process, but then near the end of the boot process something happens that screws it up and so after each boot I have to do:

ifup wlan0

and then the card works again. How can I make 'ifup wlan0' run near the VERY END of the boot process? (Or, what log files could I post so someone could diagnose what is screwing up the card near the end?) Thanks.

Brian
