nvidia mx440 i believe

using tv out the images don't fill the screen mainly horizonally.

It is not an X problem as it shows up right at boot up instead of the printing being all the way to the left it is a couple of inches over.

I have played with the x settings moved the overscan way up. No help
I have played with the settings within Myth and all i succeed in doing is expanding the picture beyond what is viewable but still i have the side borders

any suggestions

if your card is a geforce2 card, you need to use nvtv to control overscan settings.

alright dumb question

How

Is this the program that is in the fluxbox menu appt/tools/nvidia-settings

because that one does not have a slide bar for overscan

I tried just starting nvtv from a prompt and get

Segmentation Fault

any help appreciated

No, it has a different name because it's a different program. You can't use nvidia-settings with an GeForce2 card, you have to use nvtv instead.

Hi,

Might try xvidtune for that problem. It won't cure the offset at boot, but may help you have "normal" ops when running.
