Let's say you want to build a new HDTV ready (ATSC/US) MythTV system,

microATX,

front&back in one machine,

wirelessly networked,

money is not a big problem,

which internal components would you choose?

Knoppmyth Reference Platform

It has everything but the wireless. If you have other questions after you look through that thread the search tool can be really helpful.

did see that..

two things,

does that represent what everyone else would want?

and more importantly, it's not mATX..

I don't know. You asked for opinions on components, I gave you mine. No, it isn't mini ATX, but I'm not sure what mini ATX gains you as the ATSC cards are full height and will require a full size case (or you'll only be able to use maybe one card with some kind of riser system).

I gotcha.

mATX since it seemed like a more challenging question, and for aesthetics.

Silverstone LC11M was the case I wanted to use, but it's not a big deal.

I'm pretty happy with my system, even though it's not a small-form-factor motherboard. I have the Silverstone case loaded with three large hard drives (400/300/300) and three HDTV cards (2-HD3000, 1-HD2000). It has 1G of RAM and a 3GHz P4 w/HT. The keyboard/mouse is the LiteOn wireless unit (no longer sold) and I use a Home Theater Master programmable remote to emulate keystrokes so I bypassed the whole remote hassle. It also has a DVD-R drive for my future use as a DVD-changer (and for the day when I can recode my HDTV shows to DVD). I have a PVR-350 I could toss in, but I'm not interested in using its video output, and I find I don't care much about capturing non-HDTV. (I still have a Tivo doing backup duty.)
