I just installed R4 any most everything worked wonderfully.
However I am having two problems with my PVR-250.

Whenever I attempt to change channels while watching live TV it just sort of pauses and returns to the same channel.

The other problem is that the OSD that is displayed when the channel change is attempted shows no text and is black and white.

I also have a BTTV card in the box and this seems to be working fine. Both channel changing and the OSD work as they should.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

BTW. I must bend a knee to the KnoppMyth developers. Outstanding!

also did you define each card in the setup and associate a video source with each card. usually when it won't change channels it indicates something wrong in the database, but if it wasn't associated with a video source it wouldn't see the info from the database to be able to change channels.

We'll I'm a a terrible QA team member.

After reading several posts over in the MythTV forums I decided that using XvMC was a bad idea as this was probably causing my B&W OSD. As a result I reinstalled R4 and did not select this option. This did fix my B%W OSD problem.

However I can also change channels now. My only guess is that I missed didn't associate a video source as suggested by Xsecrets.

Thanks for everyones input.

yes the osd will be black and white with the xvmc support, but if you have a pvr250 card it should reduce the amount of cpu needed for playback. If you don't have a pvrx50 it won't matter anyways, cause the XvMC acceleration is only for mpeg2. I haven't had any problems with playback using XVmC as long as it starts. sometimes it will segfault mythfrontend, but you can start it right back up and have it work. If you don't need to use XVMc you might want to leave it turned off. I am using a pvr250 and an analog card and I want to be able to watch a recording while recording two new shows, so anything to reduce cpu utilization I turn on.
