My setupbox: Knopmyth R5A16 Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 connected to a analog antanna. My problem is that i only get snow in mythtv. I have tried to use ptune-ui.pl for tuning the card with following settings: pal, west europe, tuner0 and E8. Still I get snow.. We have a specific frequency for each channel where I live, but is there any way to tune it to this frequency? My ivtv file looks like this: Code: alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c options ivtv ivtv_debug=1 tda9887=0 #options tuner type=2 options msp3400 once=1 simple=1 install ivtv /sbin/modprobe tuner; /sbin/modprobe msp3400; /sbin/modprobe saa7115; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv remove ivtv /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove ivtv && /sbin/modprobe -r saa7115 && /sbin/modprobe -r msp3400 && /sbin/modprobe -r tuner Can someone please help me? Thanks! |

Have you checked the system logs to make sure the driver is using the right "tuner type"? Have you checked to make sure that you are using the right "frequency set"? Search the forums for the quoted terms for more information. Remember to click the "require all terms" button on the search form. |

Hi runer, As you know, you can adjust settings like video system (PAL NTSC). To answer your specific question above: using the + and - key on the ptune-ui.pl interface, you can finetune. 1 Hz each click!!!! From earlier installations on SuSE I remember that you can pass the frequency directly as parameter to the programm ptune-ui.pl, but I can't find it in the help context on KnoppMyth installations. Maybe google helps, or a search in the forum. Furthermore I know, that the PVR's need a good broadcast signal, better than standard TV. |
