Post subject:  Importance of backend gfx card

Hi,

I'm currently implementing a MythTV setup in my home with a seperate backend and multiple frontends.

This is the first of probably many questions :)

How important is the gfx card in the backend? Is it okay to use a whatever 4 meg pci gfx card?

Thanks

Only if you don't plan to watch anything on your backend...

if you don't plan on watching anything on it you could get away with a 1meg video card

my main box has a PVR-350 and no video card (I pulled the card after I installed Knoppmyth) and I haven't had any problems (that could be traced to the lack of vid card)

that's supprising, does the mb have onboard video? cause most motherboards won't boot without a video card, and no the pvr350, though it can to output to a tv is not a video card.
