Post subject: | Leadtek winfast TV2000XP RM remote and lirc |
Thanks to this forum I have managed to do an auto install of knoppmyth on a box I built last week and it looks good so far. I cannot get my remote for the Leadtek winfast TV200XP RM edition (not sure what RM edition is) working. I followed this article here but no luck. http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=LeaktekWinfastTV2000XPdlx I ran /usr/local/bin/lirc-reconfig.sh and I seemed to go through the reconfig fine and rebooted. The problem is how do I tell if its working. Obviously I have tried in the MythTV GUI and nothing happens but is there a debug line for lirc? I tried /etc/init.d/lirc stop and start again and it seemed to restart without any errors? Any ideas? Thanks |

I wrote that article on the WIKI. Curious, Is the tuner portion of the TV card working with Myth and those instructions? I don't have the RM version. Quote: is there a debug line for lirc
From Console Code: irw
then pressing keys will show what IR codes lircd is recieving. As an obvious fix do you have the IR plug in correct location on card? Is very easy to plug into audio input instead. ![]() What does that remote look like? This is what Deluxe remote looks like http://www.mikenet.iwarp.com/MythTV/Win ... _2000_dlx/ Google image search only found box images and this one which is a diffrent type of remote with most likeley diffrent IR values (/etc/lircd.conf) www.geizkragen.de/img/150/18035.jpg |

Hi spalVI, thanks for your response. Great WIKI btw. Other than that, it did not work for me straight off it has really helped me get to grips with what I should be doing. It seems my remote is different to that of the delux version. Mine is grey (not black) and has more buttons than that in the pic you showed me. Ill try and find a pic to post. Anyway I ran.. irremote myremote and I seemed to be able to start programming in my buttons fine, then I copied myremote file to /etc/lircd.conf as per point 15A in your WIKI. Restarted lirc and tried running irw and nothing.... Then I noticed that there is an lircd.conf in /etc/lirc so I copied my recorded config there restarted and ran irw and bingo! My button presses started showing up on the screen. Could point 15A need ammeding in your WIKI or do I have an odd install of knoppmyth? Im running R5A16 btw. Anyway now to configure /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc for my buttons. Is therea quick way to do this? Thanks again your help was great. |

In R5A26 /etc/lircd.conf is a symlink to /etc/lirc/lirc/lircd.conf. I didn't realize that. Not sure if it is a symlink in R5A16, but that would explain behavior you are seeing. I don't have a R5A16 box to toy with anymore. Quote: Anyway now to configure /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc for my buttons. Is therea quick way to do this?
You may want to post your complete lircd.conf and lircrc files at this post as developers wanted info on supported remotes. The way I would do it... Is in your /etc/lirc/lircd.conf edit to keep all the button names the same as the lircd.conf file from WIKI then you should be able to use the core buttons configuations right away. (0-9, PLAY, STOP, etc...) After modifying the lircd.conf file you can go though lircrc and add new functions for your remote's buttons varations. Keep in mind when editing your lircd.conf file the button names are case sensestive to their functions in lircrc. Code: POWER 0x00000000000000FF
