Hi all,

Finally plunked down the cash for the components, orders placed, and I just finished burning R5A26 to a cd (maybe premature, wife won't let me build the Mythbox till I "unwrap" my xmas gifts...) Then I find this thread concerning the keyboard I just ordered...

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5445
I had been looking for the Lite-On IR keyboards with integrated mouse (SK7551 or SK7100) both seem to work for lots of folks without problems, but they are no longer available. Then I came across the BTC 9119URF at PC Alchemy, and ordered it based on this description they had...

"and has been informally tested to work on Linux and Mac OS X (not all of the multimedia keys are be available on platforms other than Windows)"

Has anybody had any luck getting this keyboard to work?

Here is the rest of the hardware I have on order, I have done my research but I could use an experienced hand to look it over and tell me what install issues I may run into.

Ahanix MCE601S case
AMD Sempron 64 2600+
Biostar K8NHA Grand mobo w/nForce3 250Gb chipset
Chaintech SH5200 video card w/128 MB
Hauppauge wintv PVR500 MCE
1 gig DDR 400
300 GB IDE Seagate HDD
NEC 3550A DL DVD burner
BTC 9019URF wireless keyboard
WMP54G Linksys Wireless NIC

I still need a remote if anybody has a suggestion and I'll be hooking the box up to a Motorola DTC2224 cable box.

Thanks in advance for any help or insight!

Karl

I have that keyboard, It works fine apart from during the setup. I haven't tried mapping the multimedia keys, but I don't think it would be that hard if I could be bothered.

Do you recommend using a PS2 wired keyboard to run the setup, then switching over to the 9019URF? Or just doing the unplug replug thing I found reference to here on another post?

Thanks!

Oh yea, I just added my NIC to the above list of hardware too, it's a linksys 54G card. Will this card have to use "ndis wrapper" and will this be painless during the Knoppmyth install?

USB keyboards and mice are still funky. For other wireless options see: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=WirelessKeyboards

This posting would also have warned you off of them: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6321

I also found your post referring to the ACK571 keyboard you currently use, unfortunately, I was unable to find that keyboard before odering the 9019.

Oh well, we'll see how the build goes and I'll report back :)

There's a nice little program for linux called ACME, it should help you map multimedia keys to functions on nearly any wacky keyboard you buy.
