Does anyone know what Geforce series this card is based on? Geforce 2? 3? 4?

I am looking for an inexpensive AGP card for a P2 400-450 system I am thinking of building. It needs to fit an older AGP slot since all they had back then was 2X.

Just wondering if this card would help playback. I know most of the MX cards are usually not very good, but that usually pertains to gaming, not simple video playback.

Did you even make the slightest effort to search? This is a fairly common low end card for people to use. There are plenty of postings about it including this one. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3161

Thanks, thats really helpful. Some guy listing that card in his hardware specs.

Still doesnt tell me what I asked does it? Which Geforce chip that card is based on was my main question.

Thanks for nothing. I have an idea, if you dont have an answer or just want to be a dick, dont reply.

I was suggesting a search for details. What, do you think we're here to wait on you?

All of the MX4 (AKA NV18) generation are GeForce4, the question didn't make any sense, since it's like asking how many cylinders a V8 has.

Rule number one in forums, know who you're talking to. I'm one of the people who answers a lot of questions around here and helps folks debug tough problems. I've even helped you before, but this is the last time for sure.

As for being a dick... I didn't certainly didn't call you any names, impune your intelligence, or ancestry, ... I called you on not having the manners to do your own homework. Maybe it's time for you to read this: http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Well unfortunately the search here ignores anything under 3 letters I think...so MX gets left out. Its difficult to find much that way.

Any of the sites I look at just call them Geforce MX 4000 which doesnt imply what Geforce series it is based on. Nvidia doesnt even mention the MX4000 anywhere on their site...at least anywhere that I can find.
