Here is the error message from my imac frontend - I have same problem on linux frontends - it works great sometimes for hours- sometimes for minutes then hangs. Sometimes it exits back to frontend, sometimes frontend has to be killed, sometimes it screws up my router and that needs to be restarted (mac only) here is the error gfrom the console:
Im wondering if this is a wifi problem (wrt54g) or my celeron 600 backend with 256 ram is hanging? Thanks everyone.

If could be any number of things.... But since you didn't give enough hardware details, who knows?

My backend is a celeron 600 mhz with 256mb RAM and a pvr-350 connected with cat5e to a wrt54g.
I dont know what chipset it uses, it is a free pc I got, it was an HP I think.
I guess the only thing to do is try a faster backend and then if it continued to do the same thing it would be the wireless network.

Can you watch TV on the backend w/o issue?

Yes I can watch video fine on the backend.
I have read prebuffering pause is from not having data available on time, probably from latency of wifi network.
I dont mind the occasional dropped connection, I just wish it would drop it fast so I can start it again. Right now sometimes it drops it fast and ather times takes a while, sometimes it hangs or freezes.
Anyway to change time out in case of prebuffering pause so the video is dropped quickly?
