I got my MythTV box up and running today, I dont have cable, or an antenna so I hooked her up to my VCR to test the tv card, but I'm also wanting to hook something up via one of the 2 composite/svideo inputs my card has.

How can I configure these to watch video through/etc.

I've tried reading a few how to's, but its rather confusing.

I assume that the capture card config would be something like /dev/video0 Composite0, but what do you configure for the input selection? Do it set it to whatever video source I'm using? Its confusing, because the video source, seems like it wouldnt be a part of the composite / svideo inputs..

If that seems correct, then how do i tune to that input? I tried hitting c on the keyboard per the google search I did for MythTV keyboard commands.

Thanks for your help.

Hi tonhe,
Not knowing what part of the world you live in, so not sure if this is of any value. However what I do to use composite is in mythtv-setup make a Video and a RF source. Then I goto input connections and set video to composite0 and tuner0 to RF, last I go to the channel editor and add two channels, 1 for video and 3 for in-house. Now I can select channel one and my video comes in and channel 3 will allow the rf to come from the vcr / dvd.

Works with the 150 / 350 so would expect it to be valid for the 500 also.
