Post subject:  How to Verify Current PVR-150 Firmware?

Hello, All,

OK, I'm beginning to understand that IVTV "inserts" the firmware for my PVR-150 cards at bootup, and it reads the info from /lib/modules ...

Is there a better version of firmware to run with the PVR-150's beyond/past that which was included with R5A26/IVTV 0.40 ?
I tried to compare some of the file sizes, but then decided I'd probably better check with those far more knowledgeable than I.

I downloaded the recommended firmware version for the 150-500 from here:

http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Firmware_versions

Specifically, from this link: ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/wintv-pvr_150-500/inf/pvr_2.0.24.23035.zip

I guess my questions are:

1) R5A26 *does* use IVTV 0.40 , yes?
2) Do I need to use a different firmware for the PVR-150's (especially with the wonky remote I2C-related issues)

Thanks in advance. I hope I made sense!

Freedom from TiVO is WONDERFUL!!!! Thanks to everyone here!!!!!

Post subject:  Yep

5A26 ships with .40. The latest stable is .041

From the change log:

- closes #58: add workaround for the PVR150 hardware bug that affects
PVR150 cards with tuner models 85, 99 and 112.
- Input numbering for PVR150/500 cards have changed, this will
require users to reconfigure apps that use these cards.
0="Tuner" 1="Composite 0" 2="Composite 1" 3="S-Video 0" 4="S-Video 1"

I guess if you are not having an issue with .40, why worry about it?
