Post subject: | Nexus-s no detection... |
Hi there! Got the following problem. I use a Haupauge Nexus-s DVB card (Germany) and i try to get it to work with Knoppmyth. lsmod says that there is no dvb_ttpci, but a dmesg | grep dvb lists it. When i try to start xawtv (with root) it says that there´s no dev/video0.... I just got a dev/dvb/adapter0 When i start mythtv (frontend) and try to watch TV, the screen just turn´s black and that´s it... Mythtv-setup finds a device (dvb) but scanning it with the known issues you just see scanactivitie up to 5% and than nothing happens... I´ve tested two other card (an other Nexus-s and one with philips chip) with the same problem. lspci -v lists the device... Any hints ? |

Hi again! Found out, that at the system at boot time makes some cabbage, so i first have to do a modprobe -r dvb_ttpci modprobe dvb_ttpci But this is just to get the system to know about the card. But still not working. Interesting thing is, that when loading the driver it says, that there is a problem about irq 19 and next he´s disabling it... Any hint ? |

Which version of KnoppMyth do you have installed? I had problems with the R5A16, because mythbackend started before hotplug (therefor dvb was not yet initialized). I fixed it myself by reordering the links in /etc/rc5.d, but it seems to be corrected in newer releases! Grüße aus Rheinbreitbach Detlef |

R5A30 should be fine according to the changelog: Quote: Changed mythtv-backend to start after hotplug.

Post subject: | Hey |
I have the same problem with R5A30 . My Technotrend 2100 premium DVB-C card works well with R5A22. With R5A30 dmesg tells me that dvb_ttpci cannot find firmware (maybe loading ttpci driver before hotplug?). Xine does not work with working channels.conf file, scanning of the channels do not work. Really odd. I have all sata drives, so I have to use manual setup. Don't know if that matters. I have intel 2500 processor and intel d865 motherboard. One other thing is that in every boot fsck fails to check my root drive (already mounted) and using e2fsck from cd does not help. I found some post that it should help to set clock to utc, but it did not help. That is also quite frustrating. We installed R5A30 to my friend who has pata drives, athlon processor and Terratec cinergy DVB-C card and everything worked out of the box. Anyone have any idea how to make technotrend to work in R5A30. I really would like to update since my r5a22 need lots of work to install again. My current installation does not work as well as it should anymore, so I should install new one anyways. - McIne - |
