I have a DirecTV/Tivo box with 2 tuners. Is it possible to use this box, disable all the Tivo functions and then use a IR Blaster and 2 capture cards? Am I dreaming? Way to complicated? Impossible?

Most likely impossible.

How many physical outputs are there on the rear of the direct/tivo unit? Is it possible to manually output two different channels using the remote? If you can do that it should be possible to do it. But I don't know seeing as how I've never seen a direct/tivo unit in person.

Makes sense.

Would I be able to turn off all tivo recording and use the box as a single tuner, ignoring the second tuner?
