HEy all...I know this is a dumb question. And i know i shouldnt be using the 150 due to problems I've seen in the forum but until the 250 drops down to $80 using the 150 is a MUST for what I"m trying to accomplish. (El Cheapo Box) I had the HP 401 with SoftEncode (BLECH!!!!!!) before i got this one and that had Audio Out on it that went into my sound cards LINE-IN. My question is why is there no Audio-Out on my new HP 150. How does the sound get captured? My only guess is that since it does the hardware encoding it automatically takes care of it for you. Thanks all, Slowly But Surely Losing Noob Status ![]() |

When the tuner records a channel, the MPEG2 file it creates contains both video and audio. Playback of that file uses the sound card in your PC; the tuner card doesn't need to have an audio out because nothing's going out of the tuner card. Hope that make sense. |

Great thanks man...Just as i suspected. So what you're actually watching is the already created MPG file which of course is created with sound and video muxed (think thats the right word) on the fly. Nice to know I dont have to worry about screwing with the linein capture settings anymore. That took some fiddling around. |
