Hi everybody,

I own a Hauppauge Nova-S-Plus (for details see http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/products/data_novasplus.html) and like to know if it works with the newest KnoppMyth.
The DVB drivers are out as you can see here: http://linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2005-November/006081.html and here: http://linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2005-December/006769.html.
But I didn't find anything in the KnoppMyth changelog.

Thanks and bye,
KAi

Did you check the wiki and search the forum? I see some partial matches on the "WhatCardYouUse" page. However unless you can find a success story here I'd play it conservatively and look for a card that's known to work.

The "WhatCardYouUse"-Wiki-page does only list the Nova-S which is different from the Nova-S-Plus which contains additional IR and AV-in.

The drivers for the card are in the v4l-dvb drivers from linuxtv.org since december - but I don't know which version KnoppMyth uses.

If it was add to DVB in Nov of last years, then no. As the next release uses 2.6.15 then yes it should work...

Hi everybody, i just started to setup a mythbox for a friend of mine. It contains a Nova-S-Plus.
I installed Knoppmyth and only the analog part of the card was detected. The remote didn't work either.
So i grabbed the latest source snapshot from http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb , compiled the modules and installed them (i have to comment out the cinergyT2 because compiling breaks at some point for this module). After a reboot the DVB Part was detected and the also remote works fine.
Can't say much about the channel setup, but I will test it tomorrow. Hope that helps.
Cheers Jan

Back again ...
The card works fine here with the new drivers. The only additional thing to mention is that there is NO DiseqC support available from the linux drivers. (but there is a patch somwhere at the dvb mailinglist) So with some additional work you can make the card work with Knoppmyth.

Can you tell me how you got the remote working? Which one did you choose in lirc-reconfig.sh ? Did you use the lirc that came with Knoppmyth or a newer one?
Only the four arrows and OK are working at mine. :-(
