Post subject: | Dvico Fusion 5 Lite Operating Temperature |
I just added a Fusion 5 Lite to my HTPC and it seems to be running pretty hot. I have it installed along with a PVR-150. I haven't been able to measure the temperature yet, but the Conexant BT878A chip seems to be very hot (I can only touch it for a couple of seconds). I'm hoping to get a temperature measure this evening ... I have read about possible ground-loops causing a card to over-heat, so I disconnected the Antenna from the Fusion 5 - but that didn't seem to make any discernable difference. Also, the card is defined in Mythtv, but is not currently in use (I'm not recording from it or watching TV on it). Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions? Thanks - David Cooke |

Thought I would answer my own question here. I got the following response back from Dvico: Quote: Hi. This is normal situation. The Conexant chip is up to 85'C. If you connect the lite, Conexant chip is working continuously. Thanks.
So, apparently, this card runs pretty hot. I put a temperature probe on it last night, and with the card not doing anything, it was registering 52C (or greater, my temperature probe wouldn't register anything above 52C). |
