About a week ago I was running FC4. I had some problems with pvr350 output. It was working but not well so I decided to order a new GF4MX440. Before it arrived I decided instead to switch to KnoppMyth for it's DVD burning support. The switch went well and after a couple of hours I had my system working pretty well. Then my new video card arrived and I decided to install it but to continue using the pvr350 for TV output. After I installed the card, however, the TV out no longer worked. For some reason I decided to try the nvidia drivers using the install-nvidia script. After a short while of trying (and failing) I decided to quit and revert to using the pvr350 after having realized that when I installed the new video card I had unseated the pvr350. Anyway, unfortunately I had made some software changes. I re-ran the pvr.pl script and checked to make sure that XF86Config-4 was set correctly for pvr350 TV output. I rebooted and nothing. I checked the XF86 log files and it said that it was unable to install the nvidia drivers. Thinking I had made a mistake, I changed the XF86Config-4 file to use the pvr350 and rebooted. Same problem. Changed it again and rebooted and again got the same results. It seems something is changing my XF86Config-4 file to use nvidia drivers and I don't want to. I suspect it's gdm but I don't know where to look to see if that's what it is. FYI, I already checked and XF86Config-4 is not sym linked to the nvidia config file. I have no idea what happened and would like some input. I know this is cryptic but I have exhausted every thing I could think to do. Thanks in advance.
