Post subject:  No Signal with PVR-150MCE

I've looked through the forums and found several posts on this issue, but none of them fixed my problem. However, that might be becuase of a lack of experience with linux.

I installed Knoppmyth R5A30 and went through the configuration. Here are my video settings:

Capture Card:
Card Type - MPEG-2 Encoder card (PVR...)
Video Device - /dev/video0
Default Input: Tuner 0

Video Source:
Retrieved channel listing from zap2it and ran mythfilldatabase successfully
Channel Frequency Table - us-cable

Input Connections:
Tuner 0 is linked to Video Source and is starting on a strong channel

I also tried recording a few shows and I get the same results, static.

I'd appriciate any help becuase this thing is driving me crazy.

System info (Old HP Pavilion -> Integrated sound and video):
1GHZ PIII
256MB RAM
PVR-150MCE
Knoppmyth R5A30

Edit: I got it to work. Thank you again for your help.

After a little bit of work, I was able to update ivtv and the firmware.

I now get a picture, but every channel displays the same thing (Channel 4).

Capture Card:
Card Type - MPEG-2 Encoder card (PVR...)
Video Device - /dev/video0
Default Input: Tuner

Video Source:
Retrieved channel listing from zap2it and ran mythfilldatabase successfully
Channel Frequency Table - us-cable

Input Connections:
Tuner is linked to Video Source and is starting on a strong channel

Again, any ideas would be appriciated.

Do you have the rigth frequency set selected? There are two us cable options. Did you associate the tuner and only the tuner with the video source? Did you set an "external channel change command" or a "preset tuner to channel" value when you made the association? (These are intended to be used for things like tuning a cable box using an IR blaster and shouldn't be set if you're not using one.)
