I have a motherboard with one serial port in my knoppmyth machine, which is being used by the receiver for my remote. i also have a serial matrix orbital lcd in my machine, connected to a usb -> RS232 adapter. the port works fine, and i have the screen wokring, but not bery reliably. after any reboot (which, due the to power in my area, is quite often) the device name for my usb serial port changes from /dev/ttyUSB0 to /dev/ttyUSB1, or vice versa. never seems to go higher than 1. is there any way to have it "pin" to a set device name? i've been googling all sorts of terms for the past few hours, without any luck (though, i've probalby missed the one set of terms that'll bring the gold)

any help is greatly appreciated. if it hadnt been for knoppmyth, i'd probably still be struggling to even get mythtv installed and running as well as it is.
