Am I asking for a world of hurt with this board? It is a Via based board (K8M800 chipset). I've done some searching here, and it sounds almost like there are a few people that have made this work without the DMA troubles that are crippling other Via systems. I'm looking to set this up as a frontend, so it would be doing playback only, are the DMA troubles that other via boards see only issues when building a backend or back/frontend system? Okay, I may give this board a go then. The price is right, and I think I can make a pretty strong frontend system for a reasonable price by using this mobo. I'll be sure to report back my findings. |
