My PVR150 remote IR receiver suddenly doesn't work after installing my new LVM (added a hard drive and make a new LVM for /myth, as per the Knoppmythwiki HowTo). It's not the standard driver problem that can be reset by ivtvctl --reset-ir....trust me, I know all about that one. I've been testing with IRW, and I get nothing. I've tried reseating the IR receiver jack in the PVR150 and I've tried reseating the card.

At one point there was a "modprobe dm-mod" in the HowTo, but the command failed when I tried it so I don't think that broke it.

I did a "ps -ae | grep lirc" and saw that lircd is indeed running.

I have no errors when I stop and restart lirc, so it isn't failing. I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

Here's the google cache of the HowTo that I followed, since the knoppmythwiki is temporarily unavailable:

Check out the log files to see if it's reporting anything interesting. For the lirc stuff the most relevant one may be the daemon.log file, but messages.log and others may also hold vital clues.

Did you check the batteries in the remote? :)

I'm trying to think of what this could have changed, and am coming up with nothing. I would suggest starting from scratch and re-installing lirc, and the lircd.conf file.

You didn't lose your /etc/lirc directory or the two links for /etc/lircd.conf and /etc/lircmd.conf did you? How about the /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc or thelink /home/mythtv/.lircrc?

Did you remember to double check your IR dongle after installing the new hardware? The black supermini-jack that they use is really easy to knock loose, not seat properly or to plug into the wrong socket (the silver 1/8" stereo mini-jack used for audio input).
