Hello,
I performed the install and it worked great... infact I had no problems what so ever with the install.
When I run MythTV and watch TV, I get a picture, but no sound. I'm running with a WinTV Go card using the sound card that's on my motherboard. I'm very new to Linux, so I don't know how to diagnose the problem.
Any suggestions?

Thanks...

Daidheid

I too had the same problem.
First you need to make sure that the patch cable from the TV tuner to the sound card is connected correctly.

Next you need to use alsamixer to make sure the line-in is set to capture and also make sure that the capture is around 50%.

Good Luck!

No go.

I've been able to verify that the TV capture card is working correctly as far as producing the sound out of it's line out jack. My sound card does not have a line-in, so I'm having to use the Microphone input jack. I tried the above suggestion with both line-in and microphone set to capture and the gain at 50%, but still no sound.

Any other ideas or thoughts?

Have you verified that you can listen to a CD or music from mythMusic? Maybe its not the line in but the speaker out.

Just a thought.

Got it working...

Any idea how to keep the sound input setting between reboots. Currently when I reboot, the system defaults to using the line input for capture not the microphone.

Thanks for the help....

As the user set your settings w/ aumix. Then as root :
Code:
cp /home/mythtv/.aumix /etc/aumix

I started the alsamixer from /usr/bin and made the adjustments. I tried to use the command # alsactl -f /etc/asound.state store from the Mythtv.org site to store this value at shutdown. I got an error 'command not found' . I am able to hear music from the CD when played in Mythtv and I can hear the tv when I run the alsamixer and unmute the line it. I trid your last post about aumix and that did not seem to work. I am not sure what you are trying to copy from the myth dir.

Thanks for your help!
Mike
