Post subject:  3ware Raid and Knoppmyth Install
Hey --
I am putting together a new myth box and am putting a 3ware ata133 card into it. From what I understand the 3ware drivers have been part of the kernel for quite a while.
I was trying to get 5A30.2 going using auto-install and I get a crash out error before it starts copying files.
Anyone tried this before and have suggestions?

I have a 3ware card.

The correct drivers are loaded for your card?
go to a shell before you try to copy/install, and do a
$ lsmod |grep 3w (what does it return)

load the modules if they are not there
$ modprobe 3w-9xxx
or
$modprobe 3w-xxxx
or similar

If this gets you farther, let me know..

autoinstall is looking for hda and on a raid card even 3ware (they are great with good support) you get different drive designations you will have to go with manual install.
