I am so glad the new R5B7 is out! I have been anxiously waiting and glad that the kernel was updated along with myth. From everything I have read the FusionHDTV gold plus card is supported "out of the box" for all kernels after 2.6.14 but my problem comes when I am setting up cards from within mythtv. The only options for hd cards are the DVB cards and the pc-3000. I know the fusion gold plus was being worked on with the V4L drivers but I am not sure what card I should tell mythtv that I have. I have tried searching the forums but I cannot find anyone that has this problem with the ATSC card. If someone can help me at least select a card within mythtv that will use my Fusion card I can figure out how to scan for the QAM channels later. Thank you |

My fusionhdtv gold 5 usb edition used the dvb option. I'm guessing yours will as well. |

are you using your gold usb for OTA or for digital cable? I don't think this would matter with the drivers but I am just curious. thanks for the reply ![]() |

OTA. I just threw it in myth to test it there and make sure it worked under linux. I'll probably more often use it with my laptop under windows though for watching live tv while on the road. I guess that's the advantage of a USB device. Unfortunately every time I want to play with it in myth it has to be re-added as a device and then deleted at the end of the session. |

thanks, I will see if i can change the settings tonight and see if that works. ![]() I changed to the DVB card and after i restart I get a "cannot open card" error. So I have a feeling that isn't right for the FusionHDTV gold plug pci card. I know the usb and pci cards have different chipsets so maybe that is the problem. I will mess around with it some more and see what I can do. Anyone else have a suggestion or got this card to work? |

I'd try it with azap outside of myth and watch dmesg to see if you get any messages about difficulties loading firmware etc. |
