Post subject:  Easy as possible soundsystem for Mythbox? No extra remotes!

Hi again!

Afraid that the webshop sends my stuff today so the weekend wont be filled with fun and educating install procedures after all

But that gives me time to think about upgraiding my soundsystem for us with Mythbox.
Tying to get rid of old FM-tuner/amp, DVD and my Medion PVR 4200. Trying to complish a Mythbox setup with only one remote (except tv, witch has to be started wit its own remote :x ) I do have 6in1 OneForAll remote to work with too...

No, there we come to question of yet lacking (surround) sound system.
I ws wondering if i could use some "better that average" setup from Logitech, like Logitech® Z-5500 Digital or similar.

The main point is that i should not be using remote (exept Hauppauge) to adjust volume and stuff. The system sould come online when signal comes to input (SPDIF).

Have you guys any experiences on these and maybe some suggestions for me?

Thanks again!

Mika

Most of these still have a remote control, and need switching on/off.
I have a PURE digitheatre system which works resonably well, although the sound quality for non-passthrough stuff is still very relient on your sound card being upto scratch.

The creative systems produce a great sound for the money - I've sold a number of these with windows systems and been very impressed. However these mainly require the processing to be done at the card end (ie - no digital input - 3x3.5 jacks instead). Not sure if ALSA supports this or not.
