| Post subject: | Error -19 on a pvr 350 out of the blue |
I've had a flawlessly working r5a16 setup since last september (05) and suddenly its died. I get ivtv: i2c client addr: 0x50 not found! ivtv: error -19 reading hauppage eeprom and my pvr 350 won't load properly which kills all sorts of things (like remote control, and of course, one tuner etc). I've made no upgrades since I got the thing configured months ago. I've tried moving the card to different slots (though I'll do more of that here soon) etc with no luck. Its almost like I've had some piece of hardware up and die on me which is supported by this one find : http://poptix.net/ivtv/Dec-2004/msg00234.html that references (near the bottom) a flaky i2c bus as a potential problem. This is really scary as its a less-than-one-year-old mobo. any insight anyone? thanks A |

follow-up. so I put the offending card in another box and built/installed the latest ivtv 0.4.4. no go. same error with no apparent recourse. so now I think my card died. Also, I mucked around with the knoppmyth box and got lm-sensors sort of working so I think that the i2c bus is okay... thoughts? A |

Well, it appears my pvr 350 is dead. Everything I've tried with that card has resulted in failure, while the pvr 150 continues to function properly. So that's one for the scrap bin. thanks A |
