Could a Pentium 4 2.00 GHz with 512 ram record and veiw a HD stream without lag? if not what would be the minumum? |

Recording hdtv is no big deal cpu wise. For playback, you would need to use xvmc (reported as problematic) with a 2.0gig P4. The usual recommendation for HDTV playback without resorting to xvmc is to have at least a 3gig processor. |

No, it means you CAN record and watch HDTV with a 3 GHZ P4 HT machine. |

If you have linux on it, look at the file /proc/cpuinfo. It should reveal what kind and speed of processor you have. If you have Windoze on it, open the Control Panel and it will tell you the processor and speed. |

Alternately if you know the motherboard make and model you can find it that way. |
