Ok, I've got a DB9 home brew irblaster (from http://www.irblaster.info), I got everything to compile according to the instructions from: (http://losdos.dyndns.org:8080/public/my ... _LIRC.html) everything works great and the install went without a hitch. Except I can only change the channel once per boot up, i can change the channel from 8 to 3 but then it stops working until the next time i reboot.

When i do a dmesg I see a lot of these errors:
Quote:
Mar 31 15:49:23 backend kernel: caller is ledxmit_ioctl+0x27f/0x340 [ledxmit_serial]
Mar 31 15:49:23 backend kernel: [debug_smp_processor_id+140/160] debug_smp_processor_id+0x8c/0xa0

Anyone have any ideas? My serial is on com2 and I'm using one an old HP Pavillion computer. Not sure if it matters but the cable box is a scientific Atlanta 2000 and I know the box doesn't lock upbecaues after i change channels and the mythtv box can't change channels. I can still change channels from the cable tv box remote.

I'm not sure what causes that smp trace, but it happens on my setup whenever I load the lirc_serial module and each time I send a command, but it still works. Is your daemon still running after you have sent the original succesful channel change when it has stopped working?

It would be better if you used the method suggested here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 4973#54973
The more people that try it, the better the chance that we can get sonething that works out of the box.

Unfortunately I'm still running knopmyth 5A30.2 because I have whiteboxed Hauppage PVR-150MCE and it doesn't really work with R5B7. But yes lircd is still running, everything looks like its still working except the channels won't change until after i reboot the computer. Even if I kill -hup or completly kill wait a few second and restart the daemon it still doesn't work, almost like the serial port is hung or stuck until reboot.

I guess I'll wait until the next version of knopmyth.

rickyli99 - Did you try the upgrade to ivtv 0.4.4 drivers? The CompileIvtv page on the wiki has complete directions for doing this and it should take less than 15 minutes.

Well ironically I'm on r5B7 now and with the link to the wiki article; my Hauppage 150s work with r5B7. Whats more, even my MCE USB remote works right out of the box... but the irblaster still doesn't work. Same symptom i can change the channel once per boot up and thats it. Oh well I'm going to stop poking at the box for now because having 2 out of 3 devices working is a good ratio to me.
