I am having trouble getting the the IR receiver to work on my box.

the INFO:

MythTV: R5B7
TVCARD: Hauppauge 250
Remote: Silver 45button with the 4 color buttons on the bottom
lirc: 0.8

the card came with a blaster receiver in one that plugs into to what looks like a "mini-jack" at the back of the actual TV card.

I was informed that this is very much like the setup of the 150, so I tried following the directions posted here by one of the great posters, everything seemed to be going well except for a couple things:

when I start the daemon for LIRC nothing registers in the /var/log/syslog at all

it also seems like not only do I have lirc .8pre4 but also .7.2 as well, not sure if that is a problem nor do I know how to remove only one of them

any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou
