I am running KnoppMyth R5B7 on a Dell Dimension 4500 (P4 2.0 Ghz) recording off the air through an indoor antenna. I am outputting to my monitor.

When I watch live tv, I get stutters and pauses all the time. If I record the same program, I have no problems, minus a few dropped frames here and there.

I've also run this on an Athlon 800 Mhz with identical results. The stuttering happens about every 5 - 8 seconds. Its annoying enought that I can't watch live tv.

Any suggestions?

Check your recording profiles to see what your default recording settings are and make sure that you have similar settings in mythtv-setup? Keep in mind that the "Live TV" recording profile that is automatically created has nothing to do with actual Live TV watching, so it's something of a misnomer. At least, that's true for my box.
