Hey, I hadn't used my knopmyth for a few weeks, and when I started it up again I attached the wires for audio the wrong way (my bad) I started alsaconf but all it found was the old (very poor sound) onboard Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM AC'97 soundcard, whitch I configured and got working in no time. but now I can't seem to get the cm8738 card to work again.. this card was detected at install and has worked properly for a long time. I would really want to get the c-media card working again.. here's some more info: Code: bon1@lain:~$ lspci

I really shoudn't have touched the config, or at least made a backup.. can anyone give me some pointers on how to get the cm card working again? If all else fails I think I'll buy myself a decent soundblaster card. I've seen lots of ppl with cm troubles when looking around for a solution.. tnx in advance! |

me again, it's gone from bad to worse.. when I reboot the machine even the 'bad' soundcard don't work anymore. I have to re-initialize it with alsaconf.. maybe it's time I did that upgrade to the latest version of knoppmyth. A complete reinstall it is then
