I have wanting to setup my payTV to the s-video input on my DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T Plus , and today when I went to do this I found that there was no input to select .. It's showing my card as a Zarlink MT352 DVB-T ! normal tv is just working fine .. so I'm a bit stummped . Code: Linux video capture interface: v1.00

G'day, That is the frontend ( the zarlink bit) it is correctly detecting the Zarlink frontend. I think if you awnt to use video in you need to look elsewhere in your dmesg output. I'm not the world expert on this stuff, but I do have the same card, haven't attempted the comp-video capture yet. Matt |

Just add another capture card as an analog v4l capture card on /dev/video0 with everything else default. It should then automatically detect that it has a Composite1 and an S-Video input (at least that's what my DVICO DVB-T1 card did). You will obviously need to connect the audio into your sound card's line in. |

That seemed way too easy.. I have done that - now I have the new capture card V4L: /dev/video0 I then created a new video source and called if FoxTel. I have selected to get my program data from tv_grab_au (selected Australia - not EIT). I think that will be cool (eventually). In Input Connections - I have two new inputs: V4L : /dev/video0 (Composite1) -> Foxtel V4L : /dev/video0 (S-video) -> Foxtel Regardless how I have it set up - I select alternate input (I press F on my keyboard) and I get several seconds of blank screen, then it drops back to the mythtv menu. I am sending video input to the S-video port and the composite input. I'd be interested in seeing how easy other punters thought it was. |

Hi there. I've now got my video being successfully captured. I think I had a missing linkage in the mythtv-setup config. Issue now is that the video is really bright - tweaking the brightness in the channel setup didn't do much. I also have no audio. The audio device in the capture card setup is set to /dev/dsp. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Have you connected the audio from your source (foxtel) to your soundcard input? |

Hi Greg, Thanks for your help. Yes - I have confirmed this afternoon that I have the audio link cable connecting the audio output from the DVICO card to the AUX input of the Audigy sound card. I've even sussed out alsamixer and made sure that inputs aren't muted, and the levels are up! Many thanks. Dave. |
