The problem
I had a working R5A16 knoppmyth with 2 PVR150 tuners. It was rebooted. Since then the sound has been unstable. No sound both watching live TV, playing a recording known to have sound or music playback. My normal mode of use is s-video and sound output to a remote TV. For this diagnosis I shutdown and used VGA video and local speakers. I have achieved sound once since the problem started so I think the sound output is OK.

What I have tried/checked
tveeprom.ko and tuner.ko are not in v4l2, I have also removed tda9887.ko from there. They are all in the ivtv directory(ivtv version 0.4.0)

The tuner cards are correctly encoding sound as the mpeg files can be played on a media player on another PC as well as playing the once I had the sound working. I seriously did nothing other than change plugs after halt and before power on

Any advice will be appreciated.

I am planning on moving to a later release soon but it is not easy on dial-up

Have you tried a newer version of IvyTV?
