I've been looking around for some gamepads, but none of them I've seen mention support for linux (logitech supports mac osx). I've searched the board, but I guess I'm using wrong keywords.. http://linuxusbguide.sourceforge.net/USB-guide-1.0.9/x201.html has suggestions on how to get it working, but no suggested devices.

so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has succes/failure stories on any gamepads... has to be usb, since I have an old ms sidewinder whitch I'd like to connect to the gameport, and I'd like to have more then one controller for 2 player gaming.

Logitech Wireless Wingman Rumblepad. Less rumble, works great!

yeah, if supported by mac osx.. it should work great under any unix..

they where a bit pricey though, at least more expensive then the cheapo controllers I've been looking at. but if they're easy to setut, I guess it's worth it..

tnx for the pointers

I picked up a couple of these on ebay for less than $10.00 each! But it has been a while...

I have two Logitech Rumblepad usbs (the kind with wires) and I can confirm that they work great for zsnes and fceu. A MS Sidewinder usb gamepad I had once also worked quite well. Gameport ones are a different story since you often have to probe the device and load the drivers in a complicated fashion. From what I've heard, most standard USB ones just seem to work right out of the box now.

had a look on ebay.be (where I live) but no usb logitech's (belgium is so tiny)

maybe I'll take the risk and buy a cheapo usb controller. 10 euros isn't really that much, and if it doesn't work I can allways give it to my little brother...

tnx for your suggestions

You could always purchase a XBox controller, and a USB(XBox)-USB(PC) adaptor...

*shrug* Those are fairly cheap and easy to come across.
