Post subject: | R5B7 PVR 350 Firmware issues |
This will be my first post so please bear with me. I am getting the following errors on bootup: Code: error getting encoder firmware version error -19 getting firmware version error -19 on initialization And MythTV is reporting that it cannot probe /dev/video0. What I have done to try and fix it: Installed R5B7 with the 586 modules (because at least one post suggested this worked better with the 350) (I have tried it with the 686 modules with the same results) Updated IVTV and the firmware as per the Wiki Changed my tuner type to 47 Changing slots Swapping video cards (currently using FX 5200) With onboard audio / with Audigy On a separate system with different chipset I originally tried this card with FC4 and 5. No luck there so I moved to Knoppmyth. I have tried it under Windows and can Not get it to work. I feel confident that the rest of the hardware in this system is acceptable as I can run R5B7 with a PVR 150 with no problems after only changing the tuner type. I am beginning to think the card actually has problems since I can not get it to work under any of the OSes I have tried. Can anyone offer any solutions before I work on returning the 350? I am includeding the IVTV extracts for before and after my fixes: Code: May 8 07:24:09 mythtv kernel: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================

Try dropping this string "ivtv0 warning: Encoder mailbox not found" into a google search. This thread in the ivtv users mailing list seems promising - http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/ivtv/users/29580 |
