After KnoppMyth has loaded up tuner isn't working. After searching I found with dmesg command:

Code:
saa7146: register extension 'dvb'.
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0f.0[A] -> Link [LNKD] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10
saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem f94d4e00 (revision 1, irq 10) (0x13c2,0x000a).
dvb-ttpci: could not load firmware, file not found: dvb-ttpci-01.fw
dvb-ttpci: usually this should be in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware
dvb-ttpci: and can be downloaded here http://www.linuxtv.org/download/dvb/firmware/
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:0f.0 disabled
saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'.
saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
saa7146: register extension 'budget_av'.

Interesting part was that file dvb-ttpci-01.fw was where it should be. After further testing I managed to get tuner function with:

Code:
modprobe -r dvb_ttpci
modprobe dvb_ttpci

Command dmesg informed then:

Code:
saa7146: unregister extension 'dvb'.
saa7146: register extension 'dvb'.
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0f.0[A] -> Link [LNKD] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10
saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem f90fce00 (revision 1, irq 10) (0x13c2,0x000a).
DVB: registering new adapter (Technotrend/Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-CA rev1.X).
adapter has MAC addr = 00:d0:5c:04:4a:d9
dvb-ttpci: gpioirq unknown type=0 len=0
dvb-ttpci: info @ card 0: firm f0240009, rtsl b0250018, vid 71010068, app 80002622
dvb-ttpci: firmware @ card 0 supports CI link layer interface
dvb-ttpci: adac type set to 0 @ card 0
saa7146_vv: saa7146 (0): registered device video0 [v4l2]
DVB: registering frontend 0 (ST STV0297 DVB-C)...
input: DVB on-card IR receiver as /class/input/input3
dvb-ttpci: found av7110-0.

..and everything worked just fine...

...until I reboot box and we are back in start!

What is the problem? Is something loaded sooner or later than it should?

My hardware:
Motherboard: ECS K7S5A Pro 5.0
Processor: Socket A AMD Duron 1600 MHz
Main memory: 1 GB DDR-DIMM 400 MHz
Display controller: Gainward nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 MB
Hard drive: Samsung PATA 160 GB
TV Tuner: Technotrend DVB-C Premium 2300

Hi melter,

I use Siemens DVB-C with analog module too :-) ... same problem loading firmware ... there is a problem with default file /etc/modules ... which is responsible for preloading of modules (before they are really needed!) ... this makes it impossible for the card to load firmware ...

solution: only comment out (with leading #) or delete lines with saa7146, ttpci... and some more. please look at output of lsmod (lines which have dependently modules)

one problem is that I only could switch to analog channels ... but this is another problem :-( ... scanning found digital channels, maybe something with my input / connecting setting in myth-setup :-(

PM me for my file to send you.

Good luck
Martin
