This problem is baffling me. I am using R5B7 with svideo into a PVR-350. Video out is svideo from a NVidia FX5200. Is there _any_ difference in the encoding/decoding process between a recording and livetv? I thought that they go through exactly the same process: 1. pvr350 encodes svideo, 2. file is stored to disk, 3. file is decoded for viewing on the FX5200. The only difference I am aware of is the delay in time. So why do all my recordings show up B&W monochrome, but livetv is in color? thanks in advance, Dirk |

Curious. What about playback of livetv recordings (ie the recordings that are kept of the live tv you watch)? Is this a new install or an upgrade? |

Recording profiles? "Live TV" versus "Default" is one difference... |

Hi, As a suggestion, check your mythtv-setup for the input to be svideo0 instead of composite0. If you still have the adapter svhs <> rca then switch to composite and try that also. Curious, how do you switch to the external video connector? Mike |

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Turns out I had two inputs set up in mythtv-setup - one svideo0 and one composite0 (I tried out composite0 a while ago and decided not to use it). Running mythtv-setup, deleting all inputs, and setting up svideo0 did the trick. Apparently composite0 was giving me b&w. For reasons I don't understand, watching livetv was always color, presumably from svideo0, and scheduled recordings were b&w (from composite0). Occasionally (usually as I was troubleshooting ![]() Anyway, thanks again! Dirk |
