Just update my R5.5 MBE to R6. Everything seemed okay, but my live TV and recorded programs (both under R5.5 and R6) have no audio. I didn't see anything relevant in the dmesg about my sound card. Playback of avi files w/ mplayer works just fine so I know the sound is working. I ran alsaconf and it did find the correct (and only) PCI sound card on the box. Is there a configuration I need to tweak?

If I disable splashy, I get this:

Code:
Unknown hardware: "YMF724" "TriTech TR20023" "AC97a:54524103" "0x1073" "0x800"  Hardware is initalized using a guess method

My mythfrontend.log is also complaining about my sound card:

This same hardware worked just fine under R5.5, so I gotta think it's an R6 thing.

Opened a flyspray task on this: http://linhes.org/flyspray/index.php?do ... &project=2

I switched to OSS and everything seems to be working! Something is seriously wrong with ALSA for me under R6! We'll see if OSS survives a reboot/continued use.

I seem to have this problem also (linHes 6.0 and PVR150). I moved the recordings to another box (windows) and showed that there was no sound on the recording itself. That would make it a problem with the PVR150 driver as the sound card is not involved during recording. You said you tried OSS. What is that. I am looking for a solution as my earlier configuration as getting a bit flaky and I would rather upgrade to a newer version than trying to fix the current one.
