Hi,
Having come back from a day away, it seems Mythtv has got into a pickle.

I decided to run the optimize_db.py script, which kept hanging part way through. I then looked at the wiki regarding how to fix the mysql. Which I followed. There were a number of broken tables, but I was able to fix them using the instructions.

However I still can't connect to the backend.

I had a look in mythtv-setup, but it looked ok, exept that when I tried to exit, it hung.

Can anyone give me any pointers?

Thanks.

Hope you backed-up your db... running that script on my machines hoses the db.

When I had this problem is was caused by the logs filling up and I ran out of space in the partition that holds the logs. Just deleting the old log files fixed it.

Try running "df" from a command line (without the quotes) to see how full your partitions are.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies.

@ Greysky. Possibly. However I ran the fixes described in the wiki for db corruption. (These ones.) Which found and fixed, or corrected a bunch of stuff. Still no go.

@ jzigmyth, thhanks for the suggestion. I had already considered that issue. I had deleted some of the old frontend / backend logs. After a reboot I had some other problems - namely that I was being kicked back into the original setup screens when it asks what language I was using. Then started moaning about the db schema.

Myth offered to upgrade the db but couldn't. So I stopped pressing things and turned it all off.

Today, df gives me:
Code:
Filesystem           1K-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1              5036284   4233664    546788  89% /
none                   1036660         0   1036660   0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda3            473643152 344204664 105378744  77% /myth
/dev/sdb1            976628928 867325612 109303316  89% /myth2
/dev/sdc1            976628928 398213736 578415192  41% /myth3

If it was that, it isn't now. I'm going to try and manually fix it again, but if not I think I'll have to accept it's dead Jim, and start afresh.

Once again, thanks guys.

Chris
