I have seen this with a couple different drivers, but am currently using nvidia thru a 8400 sparkle card. Everything plays great, but I can't get the monitor to stay powered off. Code: xset dpms force off will blank the screen for a couple minutes, but then come back with the backlight and greenlight on the monitor, no picture.
Ideally I would like to turn off monitor with a button on myth remote (this isn't a TV, just a monitor). or turn off the monitor after x amount of inactivity, like screensaver after 5 min - off after 10. I have dpms enabled in xorg.conf |

OK, I was able to 'fix' the monitor from coming back on. Trick is to disable the screensaver. xscreensaver must have been turning on the monitor to blank it. (this makes me laugh) |
