I did an update to the latest and greatest last night. I did a reboot, and now it is hanging at the NTP update line. Not sure what is going on or what to do. Any thoughts other than reinstalling/upgrading from the cd? (I did do a backup before the upgrade)

how long did you wait?

If I recall the timeout is pretty lengthy if it can't find the ntp servers.

It means that it can't connect to the ntp server. Is it connected to the Internet? If not, just ctrl+d when you see the message. Startup should simply bypass it then. If that doesn't work, ctrl+c should work.

Would just like to point out that services are start in parallel. The odds that ntpd is blocking anything is pretty low.

Just for closure, I went ahead and re-installed before manicmike's suggestion, so I am not sure what may have been the problem.
