Post subject: | Boot stuck at NTP update |
I did an update to the latest and greatest last night. I did a reboot, and now it is hanging at the NTP update line. Not sure what is going on or what to do. Any thoughts other than reinstalling/upgrading from the cd? (I did do a backup before the upgrade) |

how long did you wait? If I recall the timeout is pretty lengthy if it can't find the ntp servers. |

It means that it can't connect to the ntp server. Is it connected to the Internet? If not, just ctrl+d when you see the message. Startup should simply bypass it then. If that doesn't work, ctrl+c should work. Mike |

Would just like to point out that services are start in parallel. The odds that ntpd is blocking anything is pretty low. |

Just for closure, I went ahead and re-installed before manicmike's suggestion, so I am not sure what may have been the problem. |
