Post subject: | Firewire errors during recording |
I just setup my first firewire card ( a cheap SYBA firewire card from newegg) and connected it to a Verizon Fios STB (labeled QIP7100 although plugreport lists it as a 8100). I have run the firewire utilities and everything checks out. I can change channels without problem using the 6200ch channel changer. This week I set out to make HD recordings from the box and although it (almost) never fails to make a recording, they are all full of glitches and jumps. I am using the mythtv internal channel changer for the firewire recordings. In looking at my mythbackend log I find: Code: 2011-01-11 06:00:02.857 ProgramInfo(4576_20110111060000.mpg), Error: GetPlaybackURL: '4576_20110111060000.mpg' should be local, but it can not be found. 2011-01-11 06:00:02.903 ProgramInfo(4576_20110111060000.mpg), Error: GetPlaybackURL: '4576_20110111060000.mpg' should be local, but it can not be found. 2011-01-11 06:00:06.873 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 50 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:06.926 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 100 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:06.977 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 150 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:07.028 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 200 msec... *** this repeats up to 1050msec *** 2011-01-11 06:00:07.891 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): ResetBus() -- begin 2011-01-11 06:00:07.894 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): ResetBus() -- end 2011-01-11 06:00:07.894 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): SignalReset(7->8) 2011-01-11 06:00:07.895 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): SignalReset(7->8): Updating device list -- begin 2011-01-11 06:00:08.638 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): SignalReset(7->8): Updating device list -- end 2011-01-11 06:00:08.688 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 50 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:08.739 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 100 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:08.740 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): HandleBusReset: Reconnecting P2P connection 2011-01-11 06:00:08.743 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1): HandleBusReset: Reconnected fwchan: 0 output: 0xffc0 input: 0xffc1 2011-01-11 06:00:09.015 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 150 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:09.066 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 200 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:09.117 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 250 msec... 2011-01-11 06:00:09.167 LFireDev(0024A1FFFE3AA6F1), Warning: No Input in 300 msec... I have tried different channels and programs but all have the errors. I have also tried changing the firewire setting in myth setup. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. |

I had some similar with my Motorola DCT-6200 box with Comcast. I eventually solved it by writing a custom channel tuning script that resets the box with "firewire_tester". I don't know if this will work for your situation -- is your tuner a Motorola DCT-6200? |

No. As I wrote above it is a qip7100 but plugreport says its a 8100. I see that there is some improvement with FireWire in the new kernel. I am hoping V7 may solve the problem. |
