Post subject: | Updating lirc version for Comcast DTA30 |
It seems that Comcast has updated the firmware on our Cisco DTA30's as they no longer respond to channel-change requests from my PVR150 IR blaster (the IR blaster does continue to work with other devices). I am using LinHES 6.04 and would like to try the latest lirc version 0.8.6 or later that has support for the XMP IR protocol. I might also try the serial blaster, but my question is this: Is the following the correct way to install the latest lirc version? 1. Temporarily add the following to /etc/pacman.conf: Code: [core-testing] Server = http://knoppmyth.net/repo/i686/core-testing 2. Grab the latest test version from LinHES 7.xx: Code: pacman -Sy lirc 3. Remove the line previously added to pacman.conf 4. If it doesn't work, revert to the old version by doing this again after pacman.conf is changed back: Code: pacman -Sy lirc
I just wanted to check whether this is likely to work before I hose up my lirc configuration. For example, I don't know if the latest lirc will be compatible with 6.04, or if the receiver & blaster configuration files in MythVantage will be compatible with the latest lirc, or would need to be updated also. Thanks for any tips on this. |

Check that there isn't something else wrong. I can't think of any reason that Comcast would change the IR receiver to not work with remote controls. |

I have this same problem with Mythbuntu and it happened about the same time...have you found a solution yet? I tried going through all the codes from here (http://www.blushingpenguin.com/mark/lmilk/lircd.conf) but none of them worked. I'm on Mythbuntu 10.04. Thanks, Tim |
