Unless you need those packages it won't really do any good either. If something goes wrong, you'll just be chasing your tail. My recommendation is you not bother until things stabalize.

I do need them, but sounds like its safest to wait.

Still working on the problem. Replacement machines are being built, but I don't have an ETA.

Well cabbage, I just tried to upgrade from 6.04 and I'm getting errors about not finding packages on the server. Unfortunately it appears to have partially upgraded me so now I'm downloading the 7.02 iso and hopefully that will fix my problems. I wish I'd read more in the forums instead of just following Ceci's instructions on the announcement forum. Maybe there should be a note on the front page?

Jams, it looks like the recovery is taking a ton of your time. I want to make sure you know how much we all appreciate what you are doing for us. Thank you!

Would this 7.1 issue with pacman be part of the downtime? I noted that if I browse to it, I can get the core.db file in the browser. If it's still broken, I can just wait it out.

The replacement server is up and running. It took much longer then expected, but I guess thats what happens when it all needs to be build from the ground up.

For services, everything but the phpbb2 forums have been transferred. At the moment we are still discussing what to do with them. Currently we are considering using the forums built into chiliproject, but nothing has been decided yet.

Epic, thank you, Jams. :)

My timing truly is horrible. I blew up my system thanks to my damn TV locking up. >_< Now I can rebuild. :)

Oooooo... I'm liking the new phpBB very much. Easier on my eyes!

And, at least for me, the site is very snappy. It's almost like its only one hop away from my computer!

P.S. Maybe at the old site you could post a link directly to the forum? It might save some frustration...

hear hear on the linking I've been thinking for the last two weeks that the servers were completely down again. I was going to the mysettopbox.tv page and getting a bounce back from opendns. Until tonight when my bright self went to see if any of the other domains were working. Shame on me for not looking but Mysettopbox.tv should have some info on it of some kind.

Glad the forums are back and they sure do look fancy....
