Tried upgrading online. Script hangs at downloading db's Code: >>> >>> ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! >>> /etc/pacman.conf has changed. If you have customized your >>> pacman.conf file, please merge your changes into >>> /etc/pacman.conf.pacnew. Backup your old pacman.conf and >>> then move pacman.conf.pacnew to pacman.conf >>> downloading core.db... downloading extra.db... Left is sit for almost 2 hours /tmp/linhes_upgrade and /tmp/upgrade.fifo were still at 0 Any suggestions? |

After ensuring that the repos was in fact up to date, I removed the check statement from the script. Everything completed at that point. Tried to watch tv and play back but in both cases I was getting an error Code: mythtv failed to initialize video output After seeing To Many Secrets post "7.3 broke VDPAU" I changed the mode to slim, and sure enough it worked. So something is breaking VDPAU. Downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-295.59.run from Nvidia's website installed it , VDPAU now works. |

I don't know what the BEST fix is but I would suggest that you back-rev to a diferent nVidia release. I had to do the same - didn't dig in to the root problem - just wanted it up and running. See Too Many Secrets post. |

as tscholl mentioned, I've been using the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-295.59.run drivers without issue. I've got the Sparkle GeForce 5200 GS card and using the "VDPAU Slim" video setup OOTB. Looks real nice and plays everything I'm throwing at it. |
